The conscious of South Korea

N. Lygeros

Translated from the Greek by Vicky Baklessi

The conscious of South Korea provokes changes. Not only on a diplomatic level, but also on a transnational one. Because the efforts of rapprochement and peace happen when there is will on both sides. But North Korea used in an unacceptable manner the financial benefits of the common plant for nuclear purposes. Now it became obvious that all those who were closing their eyes to these strange moves to ensure an artificial peace which was neither just nor viable, they were wrong. Consequently, it comes crushing down completely, the pseudo structure which was based on wrong moves and estimations. The entire policy of South Korea was based exclusively on reconciliation, while North Korea wants not only more but also to devour it entirely. Now with the plant’s shutdown it becomes evident that conscious prevailed over illusion. The occupying regime of North Korea cannot be confronted with friendly measures which permits it indirectly to import money and to avoid indirectly and partially the international embargo. A democracy may have dealing problems with totalitarian regimes, but this doesn’t mean that it shouldn’t protect its citizens from barbarity. South Korea has this duty to have this role for the Koreans in whole and therefore the acts must be more strategic, so that it doesn’t fall into the trap of rapprochement which has no substrate, because it is based on ignorance of an inadmissible and barbaric situation.
