15435 - Pyramid of the dead
N. Lygeros
Translated from the Greek by Vicky Baklessi
It was hard for someone to imagine the barbarity in the act, yet it happened.
Peter had returned to Constantinople to find assistance at the time when the inexperience of the others condemned them.
The barbarians that awaited them with arrows began a systematic chase to death.
No one expected such hatred.
But hatred existed.
And it no longer concerned the pilgrims.
Every presence of the cross was a definite condemnation.
And that was happening in the most barbaric manner.
Even the dead, the barbarians didn’t leave them in peace.
So they erected an enormous pyramid after the end of the massacre to show
to everyone their accomplishment.
It was that pyramid of bones that the Master and the knights found.
