Translated from the Greek by Athena Kehagias

Greece’s large licensing round, in regards to the twenty marine plots of the Greek EEZ is in progress, since now it’s entering the final straight, because, the date of closure for the submission of applications from oil companies, following the two month extension, is expiring in a month’s time, on 15 July 2015.
It is important to refer to this event, not solely because it is the implementation of a large national vision, but also as an intentional reminder of the value of the specific period of time.
Because, at the time that everyone is involved in talks, the reality of the hydrocarbons of the Greek EEZ progresses steadily. All that’s important for us to understand is the timing.
The large licensing round has enormous importance for the Greece of the future, and all the delays and the ulterior motives of the present, create hassles with their interventions.
We saw it already in regards to the small licensing round which did not concern the Greek EEZ.
The twenty marine plots, especially those found on the border of the midline with Albania, Italy and Libya, play an important role for the geopolitical developments, but also for our EEZ itself.
It is therefore necessary to have a strong presence in international forums, with effective presentations, in order to become understood to all, that even with difficulties and obstacles, we are moving dynamically in regards to this high strategy, while simultaneously we are following and supporting the relative strategy of Cyprus.
All of Hellenism hereon, functions in this common context of the Law of the Sea, in order to utilize all its forces, and not to be in need of any external dependence whatever form that may have.
