27766 - Stone battlefield

N. Lygeros
Translated from the Greek by Athina Kehagias

At the Park the stone statues were waiting
for the disciples and the Master for more
than a century, while they were referring to others.
So the intertemporal element became obvious immediately.
The disciples had reconnoitered the site and had
found the foundations which would’ve interest the Master
and they had succeeded in their mission.
Serendipity.
He approached the wall of statues.
He read every sign of history
making pauses at the points of the statues
because he was moved by their humanism
even though they were of stone
as they obtained the Mnemosyne of Humanity.
He stood as close as possible
to the moat as if they were towers.
The stones spoke to him silently.
Then they returned to the park entrance
to see the chess players
who were playing upon enormous chessboards.
And that’s where the phenomenon appeared
for the second time.
Serendipity 2.
