How many times have we heard that Eni and Total would leave the Cypriot EEZ and that we will remain alone with useless marine blocks?
How many of those who were saying all these lies of petty politics and of a disgraceful propaganda apologized to the Cypriot nation regarding that disinformation, which as we finally are seeing it occurred quite intentionally?
How many were swearing against Tassos Papadopoulos years ago, arguing that there was no natural gas, and it merely was an election tool ?
Now with the new success of the Cypriot EEZ we all understand that the truth comes to verify our strategy, regardless of petty political moves which took place in order to disarm our actions within the Cypriot EEZ context, as well as in the hydrocarbons field.
Because we now see, even more objectively, that the politics and the economy don’t change by themselves, but only through strategy and energy.
At present, the Italian ENI is upon marine blocks 2,3,6,8,9 and 11 and Total at 6 and 11.
In other words, the companies which were supposedly departing, hold on to most of the Cypriot EEZ’s marine blocks, and more specifically with great difference compared with other companies.
Consequently, the European companies ENI and Total remained and will remain indefinitely, because they have common interests with our Cyprus.
However we ought to state here, that the Archbishop had said from the very beginning that they wouldn’t depart from the Cypriot EEZ.
