31415 - Edison, Exxon Mobil and Total in Greece
N. Lygeros
Translated from Greek by Athina Kehagias
It’s interesting to observe at how matters are proceeding, while they were telling us that it will never occur.
We’ve heard so much in regards to Greek data and that there will never be any movements or even negotiations with oil companies, and especially foreign ones.
That there will never be any interest for cooperation with both the Europeans and the Americans, because they are Westerners, and that we should be in contact with the Easternes.
Additionally, that we shouldn’t expect anything good coming out from the new government in the USA, and that we have to be neutral in regards to Cypriot matters.
What do we finally see from all these?
Absolutely nothing, apart from sheer misinformation and propaganda.
Because Edison is an Italian and Total is French, ie, European companies.
Exxon Mobil is American.
Simultaneously there was no contact with some Russian company.
And if we add to all the above the Italian co Eni, which is located in the Cypriot EEZ, it’s understood even by the most naive in regards to the hydrocarbon sector what exactly is taking place in the Eastern Mediterranean.
In other words, absolutely nothing at all in connection to everything we’ve hear so far.
And as far as Exxon Mobil movements are concerned, these are becoming actions through Trump;s government, which had initially declared that it’s interested in been developed in the region because it sees that it has a future.
Now we can in actual fact see the announcements made prior been realised.
So let’s continue on our path with fair dinkum allies, ie, countries that have common interests, and let’s leave the friendship treaties aside.
