57023 - European measures against Turkey

The European Council followed the voting of the European Parliament and took measures against Turkey.

It was after all, the least it could do after the USA decision to impose sanctions as well.

Therefore, the scenario reached completion as we had predicted, ie: the demands of Greece and Cyprus were taken into account.

The German presidency kept its balance in order to avoid any cost.

The measures will be implemented in an extensive manner against those involved in supporting Turkey’s illegal actions, but will be further enhanced in March 2021 if necessary, in coordination with the new US presidency.

Consequently, we have a united Europe against the challenges of Turkey not only against the leaders of the European Union, but also against its member states and more specifically within the Eastern Mediterranean.

In actual fact, this was confirmed by the reaction of the dissatisfied Turkey, which assumed that the EU did not remain neutral.

We continue therefore with more measures against the barbarism in the Varosi case as well.
