N. Lygeros

In strategy and especially in Grand Strategy it’s very important to define in a very clear way the target, the high level target in order to create a network of contributions. The idea in this situation in the Middle East is to consider that the problem is not the peace but it’s a question of freedom. When we prefer peace it’s only because peace is compatible with slavery. But it’s not possible with freedom. For Israel the target is to be free. And to be free in this region means that you are able to make even a war to stay free. When we ask about peace in this region it’s impossible to have any kind of peace without freedom. For the others, when they speak about peace, in reality, they want a change and this change is impossible because it’s only a projection, it’s not a strategic goal. They don’t want any freedom in the region, they want only peace but this kind of peace is just slavery. Why? Because every country has a right to be free in every region in the world and especially in the Middle East. We have to keep this in mind if we want really to understand what the situation is, what the new position is and what the target is. The way to do that is to understand that freedom is more important than peace.
