95038 - Against xenophobia

N. Lygeros

It’s very important to define xenophobia as a toxic mix against people who simply belong to Humanity. And this hasn’t to do something with the legal immigration. The problem is in fact the difference between legal and illegal immigration. So, we have to take care of that in order to avoid any conclusion. To be against illegal immigration is not related with xenophobia. It’s simply that you believe in the Law. That’s all. The problem is when there is a confusion at the values level. We are different but we belong to the same Mankind. So, there is no reason to choose xenophobia as a system which wants to avoid the difference. Because difference is the substrate of the diversity which is an added value for our revolution. In the notion of melting pot, we can find the acceptance of the difference. That’s we at the end we are all a part of diversity and this is a way to characterize the United States of America. But this doesn’t mean that there is any relation with woke culture. In the melting pot, the difference remains and this is an enrichment. In woke culture everything is diluted, that is why everything is the same. But we don’t have to be the same in order to be equal. Equality is not identity. You don’t need to lose your identity to be equal with the others. The consequence is that the notion of melting pot works against xenophobia. And you have to keep this in mind when you want to understand the American way of living.
