An important step is taking place right now with the decision of the Minister of Environment and Energy to initiate the hydrocarbon exploration and exploitation concessions regarding marine block 10 of the Kyparissian Gulf, which concerns Hellenic Petroleum in regards to the marine regions Southwest of Crete, and the Exxon Mobil, Total and Hellenic Petroleum consortium concerning the West of Crete region. In this manner, the Minister activates a marine block of the licensing round which was initiated back in 2014 and sets in practical use the two new marine regions in order to enhance the context leading up to the Greek EEZ. These monographs will be followed up by an examination at the Audit Board, and thereon by the vote at the Hellenic Parliament. That constitutes a triple step towards the evolution of the sector, and a proof that a competent Minister can produce work even within an absurd environment which is still unaware of the fact that the utilization of the Greek EEZ is the only way we have up our sleeve in order to bring the recovery back to our homeland and to simultaneously obtain an allied context which shields our homeland due to common interests.
