It’s almost impossible to imagine
a forest of bonsai
because the bonsai seems to be
something local by definition.
But remember
that a bonsai is
nothing else
than the art of growing and training
miniature trees.
The bonsai is maybe idealized
because it focuses on a single tree
and it isn’t a penjing
which is a more naturalistic scene.
With the bonsai
you forget the source
which is the tree.
And it’s natural and not strange
for a tree to live
inside a forest.
This is the same in geopolitics
with the local conflicts,
as they belong naturally
to a bigger one
which can be a war.
