China doesn’t like any highly unpredictable path when it’s related to its great rivalry. And this historic political comeback could with its choices and its positions, devastate its economic growth. The question of tariffs is indeed crucial. It’s also a reason to create even more tensions in the difficult relations between those superpowers. China is afraid of the protectionism and the transactional approach of the new president of the US. The problem which is possible to be used by China is the retreat of America from the system of alliances. In fact China is trying to fill the void created by this problem and would like to exploit it in order to shape an alternative word order. Because this is the great target of China at this point. With this result of the US election, great opportunities will have also great risks for China. This country is trying to keep a neutral stance and of course to respect the America’s choice but the reality is totally different. China would like to present things in a positive way i.e. there is enough space for the existence of the two superpowers. In fact, the exposition of China is seeing America as an obstruction. That’s why China considers the US as an enemy, nothing less nothing for the of Grand Strategy of China.
