Let’s start with the native language or the mother tongue if you prefer. We use to say that this one, is the first we learn. But at the level of linguistics, we do not learn it, we live with it. That’s why is so difficult to explain to a stranger how does it works. So we could say in fact, even it it looks like a paradox at first glance, that our first language is the second one because we starts from its base and we develop it with grammar etc. I imagine that you got it but I ask you just to be sure before the exposition of the core of our exchange.
