Abstract

From the Industrial and Digital Revolutions to the rise of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) even before the clear existence of Artificial General Intelligence (AGI), Humanity has progressively externalized labor, computation and now imagination itself. We are entering the age of sustainable creativity in which machines no longer merely automate but cooperate synergistically with humans in order to create texts, images, music, concepts and ideas. This paper examines human–machine synergy as the foundation of a new creative paradigm that combines computational efficiency with human meaning-making. Drawing on recent advances in computational creativity, cognitive science and design research, it proposes a framework of natural and artificial creativity, where generative models and human cognition interact and co-evolve within a sustainable cognitive ecosystem.
