With the new data in the hydrocarbons sector, the Cypriot EEZ is obtaining greater importance as a geopolitical tool, and of course it comes to disarm all those who are in a hurry to solve the Cypriot problem in any which way, without of course utilising it. Because we see more and more clearly now, that the statements in regards to the negotiations are changing every now and then.
Therefore, while in principle all are presented in the most positive fashion, some time latter there is a new statement, which comes to explain that things are not as easy as that.
We saw that happening already in the property sector, and now we hear various statements in regards to the territorial one, which bring to mind cases worse than those we’ve already rejected a decade ago.
Simultaneously, while they were trying to neutralize the role of the Cypriot EEZ within the context of the negotiations, it came back enhanced with new data each time.
Therefore, we see that there is an asymmetry between the vocabulary of the propaganda and the truth of the reality.
So, any imformed Cypriot citizen may be aware that the pretense is not the reality, and that reality sooner or later appears whether we want it or not, in order to also indicate the elements of Cypriot high strategy, which can no longer function without the European Union and the Cypriot EEZ.
Additionally, when we hear statements which don’t derive from a scientific content in regards to the Cypriot EEZ, we realize that the politicians who make them do not have a clue about their value and are out of context in regards to their competence, which is based on the Green Line for so many years, without being aware of the endless blue and its strategic value.
