20272 - European negotiations

Translated from the Greek by Athena Kehagias

We must insist till the end of the day, that we can solve the problem within a european context, where there is not necessarily an international intervention, apart from the european one.
Because if there is a difficulty which the European Union can overcome, the solution will be more durable and without dependencies on an external factor.
This is a card which we can play, if we really want to get away from the dead end.
There’s no need to be passive and wait around for a solution to be found by itself.
We have our dignity and our strengths, and we can resist to unreasonable pressures and partisanship inclinations, which have no connection with our homeland.
Greece is not an irrelevant country which is ignorant of strategy, law, and or diplomacy.
On the contrary, we know these fields quite well for centuries on, and we can cope with the most difficult situations. As long as we’re not afraid of pressures and we have a coherent and rational strategy.
Because the tactics which change constantly don’t have great potentials in changing the future. In European negotiations the Greek initiative plays a role.
