When you are dealing for years with the issue of the Cypriot EEZ, and later on the Greek EEZ comes to enhance it, you observe a number of things, where the one follows the other, each liberation follows the previous. That is of course consequences of high strategy, but also, the choice of Hellenism to rationally and strategically exploit the sea, in order to solve problems which have been presented as exclusively shore-based ones. It is important to realize that, as a nation of Time and sea, to observe our future in a different manner, and especially through our islands, as they are mesothalasses.
In this way we follow the track of an ancient mental scheme, as it’s in affect since that epoch, which dictates that: the sea is the shield of Hellenism.
The EEZ is not merely an organ of expansionism, but a counter-attack tool when there is an injustice. And such exists in the occupied territories, the small and the large ones. Therefore, the EEZ, with the burden that it causes to the enemy interference, it follows the mental scheme of Lasker.
The world chess champion for decades, was saying: do not opt for the best move, but the good one, as it is this which annoys the opponent. The one which changes the data and the chessboard.
Because with the EEZ of Hellenism, we are changing, not only the geoeconomy, which is the most important for most people, but also the topostrategy through chronostrategy for the few, who have the background, the language and lateral thinking, in order to make the fundamental composition.
The EEZ is certainly not an objective by itself, but an intermediate one, in the field of high strategy. That is how we must interpret it, in order to comprehend its conception for the utilisation of the EEZ by Hellenism. Otherwise, there are too many countries with EEZ, but not with the same opportunities and certainly not the same strategic objectives. That is why, the EEZ is so important for Greece and Cyprus.
