16926 - Victory against the genociders

Translated from the Greek by Vicky Baklessi

When we think even objectively of a peoples that has been subjected to genocide due to barbarity, we don’t realize at that moment that they beat the genociders. Because as many attempts as there have made all these years they didn’t succeed in exterminating all the victims and they remained the survivors which operated as the witnesses for the accusation and the condemnation of genocide. We don’t see immediately that it is a defeat of the genocidors that they didn’t succeed in completing the ultimate solution. And after decades the families of the survivors continue the work of mnemosyne and struggle against the genocide of memory. So our existence constitutes a resistance and not merely a sacrifice. But additionally shows that the genocidor didn’t succeed in committing a perfect crime against Humanity so that there exists no trace of the act and subsequently no accusation and condemnation. The survivors function as immortal bookmarks along with the Justs, so that we don’t forget any page in the history of Humanity. So the genocidors continue to have problems even after their crime, because the victims haven’t all been genocided, because the peoples weren’t annihilated, because justice didn’t forget Time. For this reason, while we should have all been dead, we continue the work of resistance so that nothing is erased from the past and pages of our History are ripped. So from the sorrow of the commemoration we have to find the courage and highlight the joy of life but also the victory of life. Because this is what it is all about. Genocide is not the final point but a link which unites us with Humanity. And our existence after the facts of the annihilation is of course a victory against the genocidors who even with barbarity they didn’t achieve their objective.
