17544 - The demarcation of the EEZ as a triple vision

Translated from the Greek by Athena Kehagias
The demarcation of the EEZ of Greece, Cyprus and Egypt is now in a joint program of the three countries, as a vision. The Cairo agreement, opens the path widely for the official signatures of the demarcations between Greece and Egypt, and Greece and Cyprus, but of course also the extension of the existing agreement between Cyprus and Egypt, so that, the three EEZs to be touching the triple point of contact without any exceptions. Therefore, we also ensure the existence of the Kastellorizo as a complex, since the triple point provides that assurance. Also this context provides the practical possibility of exploitation and utilization of the Herodotus basin, which has enormous strategic hydrocarbon reserves.
Therefore, the three countries now enter, into a practical application phase of the Law of the Sea and more importantly, within an alliance context, which enhances our geo-economic relations through the topostrategic notion of the EEZ.
With this tool, we aid towards the stability of the region, but also its investment attractiveness, since the oil companies avoid traditionally controversial areas, in order not to suffer the financial cost of any institutional delay. With this triple deal, things are clearer for everyone and we have no longer the need to wait in a passive manner for the developments, since they derive from our own actions. Cyprus is no longer alone, and although there are expected challenges, the Cypriot EEZ remains the missing link in this Euro-African field.
