With the existence of the EuroAsia Interconnector, the field of syndesmology changes radically for the Dodecanese and at a strategic level at that. In this manner, they would realize that, instead of contaminating and causing polution problems of our beautiful islands, they could tune in and understand, that from Crete we could certainly draw an electrical pipeline through to Kasos and Karpathos, which would supply Rhodes and the surrounding islands.
In this way, we will avoid practical environmental problems and will be integrated in a national context with European dimensions.
So, especially in regards to Rhodes and Prasonisi, it makes no sense to destroy a region in order to establish facilities of another era, in terms of mentality.
An environmental approach is insufficient for an effective resistance to be produced, as there must be an alternative offered, because there is indeed a demand for energy.
Therefore, the EuroAsia Interconnector, constitutes an effective and appropriate solution, because as a strategy, it allows the avoidance of local solutions, which have no future and are always dependent.
Therefore, this electrical pipeline could liberate our islands and yet, they could remain attractive destinations for tourism and for accommodation for their residents, who should not to be sacrificed in order to provide easy solutions that are inhumane.
