19356 - Greece will not be expelled from the Eurozone

N. Lygeros
Translated from the Greek by Athena Kehagias

As much as some argue, and actually, for some years now, Greece will not be expelled from the eurozone. Not only because there is no such disposition, but mainly because there is no such process available.
More specifically, a country, which is a member state of the European Union, has the right not to join the Eurozone.
But no member state within the Eurozone can depart from it, without departing entirely from the European Union.
As useless as the bureaucracy of diplomacy might be, there is no need to wait for statements which would clarify the whole context.
Every diplomat of international range, knows without a doubt, the whole background of this case. And therefore, there is no reason to intimidate the Greek nation with such information, which is nothing more than misinformation.
The entire negotiation round, has nothing to do with any expelling. And it is unacceptable for such interference to occur.
Things are to serious for any such meddling to take place.
Greece is not a country of ignorance.
We are as well aware of the European legislation, so there is no reason for such statements to affect us.We must focus on the substantive issues and not on authoritive placements.
Our country will cope with strategy, and not with mere statements. Therefore, we have to be credible in regards to all that we do, and everything that we say.
We don’t fiddle around anymore, we think of each of our moves, so that they could become actions.
