The Flemish Parliament recognizes the Genocide of the Armenians and simultaneously exercises criticism on the efforts for its denial. It doesn’t merely remember the victims of the Genocide, but pays also homage. Following the decision of the European Union it encourages Turkey, with the 100 years anniversary, to utilize this opportunity. It requests from the government to seek from both Armenia and Turkey a form of reconciliation and to actively work for the improvement of their relations. In a more practical manner to seek that there exist also protocols at the diplomatic level so that the entire issue of the dispute to proceed. It also speaks about the cross border cooperation and for financial completion. Within this context, it decided to intervene also outside of Belgium, since it transmits this resolution to the Council, to the Committee and to the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, but also to the governments and the parliaments of the member countries of the European Union and of course the Republic of Armenia and of Turkey. This way, the resolution of the Flemish Parliament does not go unnoticed and completely fulfills its mission with regards to the beginning of the process of the Rights of Humanity, since the Genocide of the Armenians is utilized as a spearhead for the struggle of Humanity’s Just.
