20743 - Clarifications in regards to Greek EEZ

It would have been wise, for our own journalists, when referring to statements made by Albania in regards to the Greek EEZ, to be accurate when there is some inaccuracy.
Because due to inaccuracies we’ve managed an agreement in 2009 to be cancelled.
Now, with the demarcation of the marine plots on the Greek EEZ , it’s very easy to cross check an information.
The contact zone of the EEZ of Albania and Greece regards exclusively the marine plot 1 and that alone.
While marine plots 2, 4 and 5, have a point of contact on the midline with Italy, where there is a continental shelf agreement since 1977.
Consequently, marine plot 5 has absolutely no connection with Albania, since they are separated by water plots 1 2, 3 and 4, but also the Diapontian Islands and Corfu.
Therefore, it is more likely that the Albanian statement does not concern the marine plot 5 of the Greek EEZ, but the point called Ionian 5.
Of course these two elements have nothing to do with each other.
So let us not confuse everything.
