Translated from the Greek by Athena Kehagias
While we’re fighting pro the Greek EEZ, it is good to also see programs taking place within the Greek sovereignty, as they can give us examples for action in regards to new data.
And that is exactly what takes place right now, in regards with the 3D seismic data of Prinos which was delivered by the Energean to the Greek State through the Ministry of Enviroment, Energy and Climate Change.
These new seismic surveys were made in Prinos between June 14 and July 17.
Now we can have a more complete picture of the area and in actual fact with three-dimensional images, which is of course more efficient, prior to preparing for drilling.
The area surveyed is of a total of 340 square kilometers.
Whereas the cost re: the 3D images is around 400 Euros per square kilometer.
The research would have costed 136 000 euros.
This investment was made in order to locate new reserves, but furthermore of course, regarding the better implementation of the drilling program, as this is indeed underway.
Simultaneously, the Energean has offered to the consortium, Greek Petroleum (25%) and Calfrac Well Services Ltd (75%), all the data which has been analyzed through areas integrated into the inactive concession of the Thracian Sea, which covers an area of around 1600 square km.
Therefore, we see that the issue of the hydrocarbons has a practical basis in Greece, and with studies of this type we can see in actual fact, what we must also do at South of Crete, in order to attract new drillings on the Greek EEZ.
