21046 - The battle’s angels

N. Lygeros
Translated from the Greek by Vicky Baklessi

The battle’s angels had flown like hawks
they grabbed other branching*so that they catch up.
The lesson of the young girl had just started.
They all watched how the invisible explained to her the past
and those beside him were weeping
when they would see being moved
about everything they had lived through and martyred
it was the small continuation of the work.
They sat down then to play chess
as they did long ago
but on the chessboard of the future
and when they played the knight
they heard her come and continue
believing that he was the only one.
She wasn’t wrong since the trinity was unique.
And when they decided to travel again
two remained in the fort as guardian angels
for the return of the future.
The young girl flew
with the eagle and the hawk.
To find the chameleons
there where she didn’t expect it.
Because they would live another battle
in the infinite blue.
