Translated from the Greek by Athena Kehagias
The target-reserve Minos, which is located within the marine plot 14 of the Greek EEZ, is a tangible example regarding the value of the reserves south of Crete.
Due to the factors, distance, depth and size, it’s a challenge not only for the researchers and technicians, but for the whole of Crete as well.
It’s also a reference point for the region’s future.
We had already made references in the past, regarding another reserve beneath Ierapetra, but we now have more information. The pillar of energy is therefore indispensable for Crete.
The regional efforts, as well as those of the university must continue, in order for the issue of the hydrocarbons to be integrated in the development context of the whole region of Crete and Greece in general.
In the region there are 9 marine plots, which have at least one target-reserve each.
A more precise analysis is therefore necessary, which however has no cost whatsoever for our homeland, since it is sufficient enough for a contract similar to the one signed with the Norwegian company PGS to take place.
The deposit Minos may indeed constitute the subject of a special research.
We can have a similar case in proportion therefore, to the deposit Aphrodite in Cyprus and those of Pyrrhus and Achilles in the Ionian Sea.
With the Minos reserve, Crete has a target for her strategy, and we will now see if the politicians have a genuine will, and obtain the high strategy in order to actionably help our homeland.
