While we are talking about negotiations in regards to the solving of the Cypriot issue, without waiting for the utilization of the natural gas reserves of the Cypriot EEZ, we need to be aware of some data which are assumed conclusive on the part of Turkey, who is in a hurry to make certain moves, in order to avoid the consequences of the Cypriot EEZ.
If Turkey avoids to refer to the natural gas issue during the negotiations, it is just because she considers that she can do so, because in Cyprus the Cypriots are not aware, that she has already made agreements with the occupational regime to grant her regions A, B , C, D, E, F and G.
These data exists since 2014, as is evident on the “map” of Turkish Petroleum, where it’s obvious, that not only they violate the Cypriot EEZ in general, but with F and G, marine plots 1,2,3,8,9,12,13 specifically.
Admittedly they avoid the Aphrodite resesve, in order not to have problems with Israel, which would cause the whole effort of their propaganda to collapse.
They’re also questioning the demarcations between Cyprus and Egypt, Lebanon and Israel, although they avoid to touch on to them with F and G.
This actually means that they’re practically trying to stop the utilization of the Cypriot EEZ by Cyprus, who by the way, they don’t even recognize as a State.
In other words, while there is officially a negotiation taking place, which is presented as quite easy, because officially, there are no major obstacles, we see how the Turkish side interprets the reality of the Cypriot EEZ.
At this point we want to stop and realize, that we are talking about delusions as far as the actual substance of the negotiations is concerned.
Because by seeing the map alone, we can all understand that the property and territorial issues, are merely pretexts, because all of the economic value of the matter lies exactly with the Cypriot EEZ, with its huge reserves of natural gas, but also of oil as well.
That’s why we must give importance to the Cypriot EEZ, especially now that we know about the Zohr reserve, which is gigantic, and is at least two times greater than the deposit Leviathan, which was the largest reserve of the decade, if we really want to deal with the liberation of Cyprus.
