The preparation of the Egypt, Greece and Cyprus tripartite, determines a unified strategy in regards to our EEZ’s, but also about the hydrocarbon extraction, due to demarcations.
We already saw how the hypergiant Zohr reserve has affected the whole situation, as it constitutes a huge phase change.
Therefore, both Greece and Cyprus can now imagine the enhancement of their relationship with each new discovery of reserves in one of our two EEZs.
This means that we must also get prepared in regards to the positive consequences of the opening of the Herodotus Basin, which is located on the triple point of contact, since we are aware, that this is a region which obtains reserves of the same magnitude as the Levantine Basin and the area south of Crete.
So, at the time that some are dealing with their own political party, and others take part in negotiations which don’t have a serious basis, we should be getting prepared for these issues, which are directly affecting the future of Greece and that of Cyprus.
The natural gas production will affect the region in such a way, that the liquefaction plants will become necessary in regards to exports, gaining added value.
In this context, Hellenism should be activated in order to play an important role at both geo-economic and geopolitical levels, because those strategic reserves function catalytically and is certainly one way towards liberating the occupied territories and to think about the uniting of the island, without economic delays, due to the existence of the EEZ and the hydrocarbons in the area.
The big picture not only exists, but it has already affected the entire region, but our own have to believe it as well, in order for us to proceed efficiently.
