To clarify the whole context and not to hide behind excuses, it is enough to wonder about the following. If the course of Su-24 hadn’t been followed from one russian aircraft, but from one american F16 or one french Rafale, would have been shot down? Τhe official version of the turkish regime would have done the same thing of course, due to the rules of engagement for the violation of airspace. But the reality is different. Even if it is proved that there was a violation, thing which should be done at least formally, we know that this shot down of Su-24 is unacceptable, because there is officially cooperation at the highest level between the International Alliance which America leads Russia, to confront terrorist attacks and especially the terrorist organization of Daesh. Also we all know that the russian aircraft had no turkish target which means that the turkish domination was not in danger. Therefore, this act by the turkish aircraft that is following similar acts made in the past, is simply an externalisation of turkish leadership’s preferences which is officially playing a role, that in act is contrary. Because on the substance, the turkish forces were annoyed by the presence of Russia in this region, since they can’t implement the vision of one peripheral power in the region, that is disturbing its prestige. At the same time we see how blind are those who consider that it can play the role of stabilizer. Because the new ottoman doctrine is facing difficulties in hiding its ideology.
