The issue of the downing of the Sukhoi-24 is not over, because it wasn’t the beginning but an enhancement of the friction which exists between the two countries due to the developments of certain events, and of strategic options.
Friction can quickly be transformed into wear & tear, and those to have specific aims and objectives.
Turkey believes that because it plays on the edge of the legal context, that it will not suffer great costs.
The signs are indicative however, and are already showing that her judgment is wrong.
At first level due to unreliability towards the allies.
Secondly due to sabotage, because we are now aware that the shooting down was deliberate and a result of a followed plan.
And thirdly, due to inappropriate strategy, which isn’t indicative of a tactical attack.
In other words, it’s not enough to make a move without taking into account the consequences, because they may be irreversible.
The case of the strategic mix with tactics, is a common mistake for those who don’t possess a fundamental knowledge regarding high strategy.
Every State lacking strategic foundations, assumes that they can do as they please without any costs, but in the long run, these countries end up with debts.
When these are of an economic nature, some solutions could be found, whereas, when they are of a strategic one, then they collapse as there is no going back.
Turkey’s problem in regards to Russia is that, it thinks that it can play around using the same tricks that it uses towards other countries which are not as powerful.
We will not need to wait for much longer in order to observe the practical implications, and to realize how mistaken all these serviles were, who could not say a single word without mentioning the neighbours.
