24136 - The delay due to incompetence

Translated from the Greek by Athena Kehagias
As though it wasn’t enough that dogmatism and bureaucracy had already affected negatively the large licensing round regarding the twenty marine plots of the Greek EEZ, resulting to us obtaining nominations only re: three of the plots, we are now experiencing the delay due to incompetence.
Even though there is only one candidate per marine plot, we see that the licensing round has not progressed.
We had already heard remarks from some irrelevant ones, who had often implied that the lack of interest derives from the lack of substantial targets.
With the new data, especially after the discovery of the hypergigantic Zohr reserve, we became objectively aware, that these remarks have no basis whatsoever.
We are in fact aware by now, of all the backstage scenes, ranging from political obscurity, through to dogmatic intransigence, which affected the whole situation negatively.
Additionally Greece, due to the licensing round had to institutionally respond to candidate companies, ie, Greek Petroleum, Edison and Total, six months after, in order to be credible.
Not even that took place, so we are now aware of what the indifference in regards to the developments re: the hydrocarbon sector in the Eastern Mediterranean means.
Therefore, as much as they argue the point, and the claim that they are actually dealing with this national issue, it is quite obvious now, that there is absolutely nothing taking place in Greece, and the dynamics which exist in Cyprus are not followed or taken into account, as far as the level of utilization of the EEZ is concerned.
Surely, those who opted for this incompetence, were not aware of its magnitude, but they could’ve realized it earlier, or at least to admit its existence.
Because now, except from the incompetence, we also observe the associated delay, which as a result, proves the unreliability and the degeneration of the whole process, as if there is no need whatsoever for our homeland.
