Translated from the Greek by Athena Kehagias

For some, Pontus is merely a memory, and Western Armenia is a completely unknown issue.
This is because they don’t strategically study the region’s history.
It’s quite possible that during the Sevres Treaty in 1920, Greece considered Pontus not viable on its own, and as a result did not enhance any liberalization initiatives.
Quite the opposite occurred for Western Armenia.
Western Armenia, which amongst others also encases Eastern Pontus.
With the development of Kurdistan which is located in the Southern Part of Western Armenia, an alliance context is created, which has the potential to in actual fact be implemented.
Additionally, as Pontus gives access to the sea, it actively enhances the geostrategic position of the stratagem.
It therefore makes sense for a coordinated movement to develop for Western Pontus as well, in order for it to result to an extension, which could stabilize the marine field, specifically regarding the EEZ issue.
In this manner, we can see that the Western Armenia does not only constitute an entity which is founded on a strong basis due its legal status, but that as a democracy it constitutes a strategic solution which in turn comes to create a strategic mix, where Pontus and Kurdistan both play a role.
According to this concept, the case additionally constitutes a just solution which obtains the status of sustainability, with a minimization of the borders with the rest of Turkey in view.
Consequently, this liberating idea does actively support Pontus as an occupied territory which would get rid off the Turkish yoke, through a lateral thinking, which is disarming safety valves of previous conditions.
