Translated from the Greek by Athena Kehagias

The EuroAsia Interconnector electric cable will permanently change Crete’s energean profile, since it will enable Crete to emerge from its isolation, and furthermore to act as an energean hub which will in actual fact also aid the development of the hydrocarbon issues, re: the nine marine plots which are located South of Crete.
Because the EuroAsia Interconnector capacities liberate the whole dependency context.
Crete spends a lot of hydrocarbon energy, especially in oil form, which she’s forced to purchase in order to operate its production plants.
This matter is accountable for a huge environmental pollution, which will come to an end with the installation of the electric cable.
Simultaneously, it will ease the economic burden of Greece as a whole, since she is forced through consumers to contribute towards Crete’s costs.
In other words, the EuroAsia Interconnector electric cable offers an innovative solution of the problems faced by the Region of Crete.
Because we have an intelligent solution which offers green energy possibilities, so that the quality of life of the inhabitants of Crete would improve, and so would tourism as well, which is an important factor for the continuation of the island development, within a context which respects the environment and protects its humans.
Therefore, Crete’s interconnection via Korakia, constitutes an historic matter, where the location El Greco will be found, for the future of our homeland.
