258 - The theology of the myth and the mythology of God

Translated from the Greek by Athena Kehagias
Initially, the two expressions of the title may seem somewhat contradictory, yet in this article will try to demonstrate their complementarity. In a previous article we indicated that the myth is in some way the substance of the story. And if there is faith, it must have as its object the myth rather than the history, as paradox as this attitude may seem . In another article we’ve analyzed the process of mythopoesis when it belongs in the general category and encoding this idea we showed that it functions in accordance with specific rules which correspond to the axioms of this theory.
The primary idea of God, even though it is simple, it is not simplistic, as viewed by mass religion. If religion was simple there would not be prophets in order to explain it to us. In this concept, you are not born religious but you become one. Because religion, though closely connected to tradition, it is also the understanding of a structure. And what’s needed is spiritual toil and long-term study. In this context, God is no longer an independent entity that exists without the existence of humans. On the contrary, His idea is following the system of the entire myth.
Everyone recognizes the limits of his intelligence and even better those of his knowledge. So he is spiritually bound to accept that there are things which are unknown to him and that he can not even understand. For him, these things belong to an abstract entity. The unification of all these entities creates a structure which develops into a myth after the process of mythopoesis. No one created this entity but all, as a whole created it in its entirety. In a somewhat provocative way, we could say that God is nobody because we all are .
The divine essence derives from the human cluster which is called humanity. God is not a human, equal to Nietzsche’s superman or the hero of antiquity, He is the thought of humanity. And in this simple manner we interpret the idea that God is within each of us. At this stage we can see that the two original expressions in our title are not contradictory. We found therefore, that the first human error is that God for instance exists independently of us. In this sense, Nietzsche wrote that God died.
The second mistake was to assume such a position as atheistic. Because it was a reversal of the classical idea of God, simpler and more approachable for the masses. Without society understanding that if we set out the problem over time this attitude does not withstand, as each society was confident regarding its own theological system. The only solution is therefore, a total and timeless one. Every society created its own God with its own mythical system.
So if only we focus on the level of mythology we can understand the idea of God. And in order to achive that, we need the theology of the myth. Because it is the only method of stabilizing an abstract entity in the field of knowledge. Finally, we see that both expressions actually supplement each other in the explanatory sector. The coding of this code is itself a code of the coding. The accomplishment creates the entity and not the opposite. And if God is human is because God is the thought of humanity.
