26103 - Activation of the Treaty of Sèvres

Translated from the Greek by Vicky Baklessi

All those who believed that the Treaty of Sèvres belonged to the past and were under the impression that there’s no longer meaning, have already a problem with the claims of Kurdistan since it considers that its boundaries’ delimitation is that and the map of Wilson which provide its framework. So now comes also Western Armenia which even though it is still under occupation has its government with its parliament which ratified the signing of the Treaty of Sèvres. Namely 2016, comes to complement data of 1920 to show firstly that it has legal status and secondly that it demands these which the Treaty of Serves provides. So it comes to reinforce the proclamation of the indigenous peoples of 2007, with a historical decision which concerns a historical text. The innovation of this process is provided by International Law but now it is about its implementation. Also those who are citizens of Western Armenia participate practically in this decision since with their existence they give life to a state entity which began estimating its responsibilities for the future and doesn’t expect everything from others. This decision complements also the decision of the recognition of genocide of the Greeks of Pontus also by Armenia and previously by Western Armenia. We therefore have a historical text which allows us to build the future of a state which claims its homeland following the institutional framework of the era. Consequently this ratification of the Treaty of Sèvres opens the road even for others than Kurdistan and Pontus.
