26333 - The EEZ as a strategic tool
N. Lygeros
Translated from the Greek by Athena Kehagias
When large countries started talking about the concept of the EEZ, regarding the 1982 ratification of the Montego-Bay Agreement, and regarding the establishment and the demarcations, we were saying that they were large countries.
When Cyprus with occupied territories, refugees, enclaved and the missing, established its EEZ back in 2004 and its demarcations in 2003, 2007 and 2010, we said that Cyprus is a different story and it has nothing to do with us.
But it all boils down to the fact that we don’t respect the Greeks themselves as such, because we only take into account the voters, while things are changing rapidly around us.
Now it is Western Armenia who is occupied at the moment due to the Armenian genocide, the government of which is in exile, which has only refugees, who nevertheless speaks regarding the establishment of its EEZ.
What excuse will we find this time, in order to again justify the servility and the bureaucracy?
Because the developments are now obvious, and in many levels and different countries.
The EEZ is increasingly evolving into a strategic tool of great value, which also encapsulates liberation struggle elements.
So when will that become understood?
Should we yet again wait for the next government?
