27185 - The target of Mosul has been locked on

Translated from the Greek by Athena Kehagias
After the general counterattack taking place in Iraq against the forces of the terrorist group Daesh, the city of Mosul is finally gaining prominence.
In it self, due to its size, as it’s the second largest city, it already obtains a certain value.
But the important thing is the fact that it fell into the hands of the terrorists back in 2014 and that they have destroyed important buildings, the museum, the exhibits.
But worse however remains, their behaviour against the Iraqi nation.
Not only they don’t respect it, but they violate and torture it, in every way, and each time with more barbarism than ever before, so that most would fear them.
As a result, the Great Alliance has decided that Mosul should be liberated.
And one of the strategic reasons for that is that it fanctions almost as a de facto capital city for the terrorist organization, consequently it should become a target.
The problem as also pointed out by the UN is the civilian population.
They will opt to leave prior to the ending of the last battles within the city, and they could of course be used as a human shield, as was the case many times in the past.
In this sense Mosul is filled with innocent who should be protected by all means, so as to not have any additional unnecessary casualties in this war against barbarism.
And in this context, it is important for many countries to help, in order for this general counterattack to be effective.
