27316 - Human rights of non-autonomous regions
N. Lygeros
Translated from the Greek by Athena Kehagias
When we examine the world in the sense of Humanity, then inevitably we end up right on the list of the non-autonomous regions of the United Nations.
At this context, everyone comprehends that they ought to have the entire picture and not merely a local one, because each case is different and giving prominence to a single methodology is not feasible.
Consequently, we must adopt a combined approach, in order for an effective strategy of addressing any specific problems may be created.
It is not enough therefore, to keep in mind merely our own models, because they degenerate upon application on these specific characteristics.
Additionally, the mere contemplation of problems through the concept of the one in a dominant position, it’s to no avail, let alone with that based on the size of the population.
And the reason is quite simple, the glance of Humanity does not depend on percentages and proportions, but merely on values which are meaningful to it.
As small as a nation may be, even if it’s a mere drop’s worth, it still belongs to the ocean of Humanity.
If they therefore understand that there are people who observe them as drops of Humanity, then they feel that they are not alone, and that they could opt for support.
This support could in fact be completely independent of the distance factors, as they don’t belong to the values of Humanity.
Therefore, even the mere study of such cases, points out to mental schemes which enrich our way of thinking due to diversity.
In this manner, we actually live through Humanity, because we can observe the needs in remote places, with people who are in need of help.
All this of course has a substance, only if we are aware of those cases, and that, in depth of time, so that we wouldn’t merely have an arbitrary point of view regarding them.
Additionally, as we can see that, except for two cases all of the rest are regarding island regions, Hellenism can also contribute practically and effectively due to the knowledge of the dynamics of the marine element. But in any case we must bear in mind the nations which characterize these regions.
It’s not merely all about geography.
History is the actual substance, as it’s history which equips the strategy which configurates the future, which will in turn become the historical continuity.
It’s for that reason that we could be taught elements of Humanity from these very nations as well.
