27712 - The EEZ is not a game for the incompetent ones

Translated from the Greek by Athena Kehagias
Those who are telling us the same things for decades on, regarding the Greek-Turkish relations, are unable to adapt to the EEZ’s new data.
Of course, they give the impression that they are following up the issue, because they are discussing the current affairs, but in actual fact, they haven’t yet incorporated into their way of thinking the mere characteristics of the EEZ in relation to the hydrocarbons.
As a result, they are reading the initial Montego Bay Agreement text, but the Law of the Sea has in actual fact evolved through the decisions of the International Court of Justice.
Additionally, as we can see in the Eastern Mediterranean, much to Turkey’s despair, it hasn’t any role to play.
Now, as far as the median line concept is concerned, we’ve already set it into function with our licensing round in all 20 marine plots.
Therefore, there’s no reason for us to listen to anything regarding other proximities, even if we are serviles.
Simultaneously, all the strategic hydrocarbon reserves we have access to, quite simply have nothing to do with Turkey.
In other words, the EEZ issue is dependent on the players who have a role to play, and nobody else.
Consequently, the analysis should focus on the countries which have access also to the oil companies of an international range, in order to contribute, and to of course utilize upon the energean data, especially with the construction of the East Med pipeline which already belongs to the projects of common interest of the European Commission.
