30499 - Searching the limits of servility

Translated from the Greek by Vicky Baklessi
‘The State of Cyprus shall be a Republic with a presidential regime, the President being Greek and the Vice-President Turkish elected by universal suffrage by the Greek and Turkish communities of the Island respectively.’
When we read the article of the basic structure of the Republic of Cyprus of 1959 we understand immediately that the rotating presidency which appears as an accomplishment by some people, is not but a degeneration of an initial case. In fact what some people haven’t understood is the disrespect of the Turkish-Cypriots by Turkey and this means in practice that it will ask not only to be able for this procedure be applied but with a Turk and not with a Turkish-Cypriot, since this person will not be Turkish enough. Because Turkey doesn’t have any problem abandoning the Turksih-Cypriots. It already did it one time in 1878 with the Berlin Treaty or rather with its secret negotiations. And it did it again with the Lausanne Treaty in 1923 with the articles 20 and 21. So we have to calculate from now that the community negotiations have some significance for Turkey if and only it subsequently places its truly own people. And this will be interesting as a position in order to measure what the limit to their servility is and if it really exists. Because Turkey has as a reference point 1571 and not 1960 nor 1963 and even less 1974.
