With the 236/17 NAVTEX, Cyprus has officially stated that the preparations for the initial drilling in marine block 11 have began by the Total-Eni consortium.

The preparations taking place within the Cypriot EEZ are indicative of the government’s determination, which by the way is no longer wasting time with unnecessary negotiations which lead to nothing, as long as the natural gas extraction process has not been activated.
The drilling will bare the code Onesiphoros West-1.

The oil companies Total and Eni have teamed up in regards to this marine block as well, in order to minimize the research risk initially, as well as the production cost at a second phase.
