46384 - Occupied territories are illegal everywhere

N. Lygeros
Translated from the Greek by Athina Kehagias

Regardless of the fact that most believe that there are differences between the occupied territories, we ought to remember that the occupied territories are everywhere and always illegal, because they encroach upon people.
Therefore it is wise for those who speak generally about Constantinople, Smyrna and Pontus, to see what in actual fact is happening in Artsakh, Northern Epirus, Thrace and Cyprus. Because we know exactly how Artsakh was liberated, we know what the Greek ethnic minority endures in Northern Epirus, we see how things are in Thrace and what the situation is in Cyprus.
It is therefore wise to be aware of what strategy we are talking about when there are even tactical problems, there, where there is indeed a Greek population, suffering due to human rights abuses.
Let’s get things in priority order, so as not to make mistakes like those which happened in the case of the Greeks living in Skopje and whom we’ve completely forgotten, merely for the sake of negotiations. People who live in the occupied territories require enhancement, require for us to see them, require for us to protect them.
We are well aware of what happened in Imbros and Tenedos, and we ought to be careful as far as our actions are concerned in order to result to actions which truly liberate occupied territories.
