The Cyprus National Guard comes to supplement the success of its high strategy in the energean field, by acquiring four drones worth $13million in order to monitor the Cypriot EEZ.
The drones are a product of the Aerostar company. They obtain a 50 kg payload, a maximum take-off weight of 230 kg, a 250 kilometer range, and 12 hour autonomy, while a maximum altitude of 18,000 feet. On a more technical level, the Aerostar drone features:
– Dual sensor stabilized EO / IR
– Laser designer
– Compact modular COMINT / DF
– SAR / GMTI
– Wide-Area Surveillance & Mapping
– ELINT
It has completed 250,000 hours of flight across four continents, and consequently the Cypriot EEZ monitoring constitutes a perfectly feasible goal, and even a simple one at that, with such capabilities.
Cyprus points out that it moves towards all the necessary points, in order to reach the realization of its strategic vision.
And those who haven’t as yet understood, they ought to examine this tactical move which is catalytic as to the entire context.
