55546 - After the dance
N. Lygeros
Translated from the Greek by Athina Kehagias
After the dance
we observed the trees differently.
We realized that they were watching us
for eons now.
They saw that we were running everywhere
and that we were dying so quickly.
While we were under the impression
that they do not die
and they were always motionless,
we realized
how much they loved us.
They lived into a Time with other magnitudes
where an eon obtained
more of an importance.
After the dance
we discovered Time
thanks to the trees.
Dendrochronology taught us a lot.
As if it helped us
to become more humane.
With their leaves
we wrote our new history
in order not to forget
the value of wood.
