59546 - Lessons of the Revolution

Translated from the Greek by Vasiliki Baklesi

Through the anniversary for the beginning of the National Revolution we remember or we learn mental schemata which are useful even now, that is, after two centuries. The fact that we managed go against a barbaric empire which infringed upon us so many centuries while we were enslaved it is indicative of the will power and the enthusiasm of freedom. We must realize though that we exploited then to the utmost the geopolitical conditions and in fact at the level of great strategy. In fact we managed to provoke catalytically the activation of the Great Powers to our benefit since they also had common interests. We didn’t ask for help though, we didn’t make a move of benefaction. It is with our work, with our sacrifices we first touched Philhellenism and then the Great Powers. The uprising didn’t suffice for the liberation, the Revolution was necessary and for it to live it required many sacrifices. First it had to survive so it appears viable and after it shouldn’t had died internally. So equilibriums were found that allowed us to continue the Fight thanks to our credibility in the face of the Great Powers.
