6351 - When you heard the poem

N. Lygeros
Translation: Paola Vagioni

When you heard the poem
you didn’t like the title
because it didn’t allow
your favorite manifold
you wanted though to see the words
in order to touch again
the petals without traces
the ones you did not forget
because they filled your nights
when everybody had lost sight.
You did not speak immediately
And you wanted to hear
the end twice
in order to taste entirely
the sound of memory.
And you learned that morning
that I did not betray the night
but only when I died.
