Όσοι περιμένουν να μάθουν πραγματικά δεδομένα για το Κυπριακό μέσω του φακέλου της Κύπρου, θα περιμένουν πολλά χρόνια ακόμα με όλες τις απαγορεύσεις και τις λογοκρισίες που υπάρχουν. Η πρόσβαση στα αμερικανικά αρχεία δίνει περισσότερες πληροφορίες και πιο αξιόπιστες. Έτσι βλέπουμε ότι προβλήματα που θεωρούμε ακόμα στην Ελλάδα και στην Κύπρο ως μη επιλύσιμα, έχουν μια λύση και μάλιστα άμεση λόγω των πηγών. Αντιλαμβανόμαστε πώς λειτουργούσαν οι σχέσεις μεταξύ των πρωταγωνιστών ακόμα και σε τοπικό επίπεδο. Συνειδητοποιούμε επίσης ότι το ορθολογικό πλαίσιο για την ανάλυση του Κυπριακού μετά το 1955 και ειδικά το 1974 είναι ο Ψυχρός Πόλεμος. Έχει επίσης ενδιαφέρον να μελετούμε τις τοπικές αντιπαραθέσεις μέσα από αυτό το πρίσμα γιατί πολλοί αποδείχθηκε ότι δεν ήξεραν ποιος ήταν ο ρόλος τους εκείνη την περίοδο. Με αυτό το βλέμμα ανοίγει και ο ορίζοντας των ατόμων που δεν μπορούν να κάνουν καμία ιδεολογική υπέρβαση για να δουν επιτέλους τη στρατηγική αλήθεια της βαθιάς ιστορίας.
