75630 - Rules and neuropolitics
Ν. Lygeros
Simple rules can create complex situations and not only in strategic games. In real life it’s possible to find many examples of that type. Concretely this means that it is easier to try to understand the rules instead of the results. Keeping that in mind, it’s good to realize that the rules are not only data and that they also have an evolution related to the history of the game. In any case it’s important to study the script and not only see the movie because it’s only a terminal phase. In neuropolitics, we also use this kind of information. The political subject has relations with others. We use them and can also abuse them. At that point, it’s possible to find out how the strategic manipulation of others works. And at the level of politics, we can imagine the implications. As it is possible to study the activity in the default mode network of the brain, it’s not only theoretical information. By the way it’s easy to imagine that analogous techniques were used in the Cold War and the Post Cold War era. Political science is not able to give information at this level. But new neuropolitics can do it even after decades.
