The copper statue is a gift from Bartholdi with the help of Eiffel. The symbol works also as a code for the abolition of slavery. The idea is simple. Light is incompatible with slavery. It is the negation of slavery as truth is the negation of oblivion. The temporal bridge was implemented also for that. We ask for a grace. We give a gift. And both belong to the work of Mankind.
