81417 - Our pearl

N. Lygeros

I will never forget
what barbarity did on December 7, 1941
with the name
operation Z.
The Japanese attack against
Pearl Harbor in Honolulu
had nothing to do with the samurai spirit.
This was a shame.
At this moment Japan lost its dignity.
It wasn’t only a preventive action
but the proof that the Empire
had to be stopped.
All the US navy battleships were damaged.
All but one were later raised.
And six were returned to service.
They went on to fight the war.
So the Japanese barbarity
wasn’t even efficient with its zeroes.
They killed more than
two thousand and four hundred Americans .
But they forgot
that we were highly resolved
that the dead shall not have died in vain
and we won the war.
